Most of the people think Creativity is just about generating new ideas, experimenting with those new ideas, breaking the limitations and create their own world and growth. In today’s era, bookish knowledge is not enough for the students. Creativity is not entirely about generating new ideas or experimenting on those new ideas, it is more a ‘Way of Thinking’ and as a way of thinking is possible to teach and share with others.

In every school, teachers are bound to follow the same old procedure for teaching the students by sticking to the texts books. They teach to state the test, critical thinking and reasoning this part gives the wrong idea to the students to score high marks in their test.

So, in the end, student mind is all consumed with the thought of scoring high in the exams. We instruct them to spit out the exact answers rather than letting the students find the answers by themselves. The main reason for teaching only the bookish knowledge, it is a lot quicker and gets a more consistent result. But have you ever gave it a thought whether doing this is the right thing for the students?

Robert W. Weisberg mention in his book ‘Beyond the Myth of Genius’   that Picasso was creative. “Creativity,” then refers both to the capacity to produce such works, as in “How can we foster our employees’ creativity?” and to the activity of generating such products, as in “Creativity requires hard work.” All who study creativity agree that for something to be creative, it is not enough for it to be novel: it must have value, or be appropriate to the cognitive demands of the situation.”

We should provide students with choices is a great way to encourage creativity. The teacher should help the students to discover their interest. So that students get to know more about themselves. Thinking that is something you can develop and learn all your life. We need to apply creativity as a skill to all areas of life, not just in the art. It can be any field whether in technology or IT sector, creating movies, writing novels/books, marketing, sports, dance, and music.
