During exam time or while preparing for exams related to any field most of the students face different kinds of problem. Have you ever given it a thought why do that kind of thoughts appear in your mind while studying or why do you get distracted easily by any noise?

Most of the students lack focus while studying or preparing for any exams. Lack of focus is the root cause because of this factor student won’t be able to control their minds while studying. Due to Lack of control of their mind, they won’t be able to control their actions. Here are few ways by which students can help themselves to build their focus while preparing for an exam.

  • Have a designated study space where you can avoid distractions

To have a proper designated study space is an important factor for studying. As proper study space helps students to avoid distraction at home and to build focus on studying only.

Try to avoid studying in your bedroom at least try to find a peaceful study space at your home where you feel focused and productive without getting distracted or If you live at home with a lot of people then it must be a bit difficult. Then you can study in a library nearby your home.  Students should try to have separate places for studying and for relaxation purposes.

  • Turn off your wi-fi or smartphones notification while studying

While studying students should avoid any kind sound which can break their focus. As per today’s lifestyle, most of the students are addicted towards their smartphone such as social media sites (Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram) which can easily break the focus while studying for that student must turn off their Wi-fi and notification off to maintain their focus.

  • Write down your goals and task for each study session

Before studying the student should write down their goals and task for each study session instead of going through the full syllabus at once or a night before exams. Students can have spilled their chapters on a daily basis so a night before their exam they don’t have any fear or negative thoughts of not to go through the full syllabus or they still have to prepare to other chapters and all.

  • Study for short intervals and take breaks away from your desk

Instead of studying for the whole day or for 5 to 6 hours’ students should study for short intervals but for that short interval they must study with their full focus. They should take breaks away from their designated study space and get some fresh air to

Clear their mind.

  • Set time limits for individual task

Setting time limits for individual task or topic of study in a vital factor. As setting time limits for your studies help you to focus better while studying. This factor helps you to focus more effectively on one chapter or topic at a time which also helps you to avoid distraction.
